About the Training Centre
With Government legislation on renewables and their installation increasing all the time, the focus on training has never been higher. As a supplier of underfloor heating, heat pumps and solar collectors, Nu-Heat recognizes the vital role installers play in taking the industry forward into this exciting new era. Having successfully run underfloor heating installation courses since 2003, we have now built a brand new, state-of-the-art Training Centre that enables us to offer a full range of approved courses.
Nu-Heat purpose built training centre opened its doors in May 2008. The centre offers NICEIC approved training courses in Heat Pumps and Solar, with Water Regulations 1999, Unvented Hot Water G3 and Energy Efficiency available when booked as part of a package; there is also a Nu-Heat manufacturer course in underfloor heating.
Because Nu-Heat supply underfloor heating, heat pumps and solar, our facility gives unprecedented access to working examples of these technologies, allowing a true 'hands on' experience, backed with classroom sessions trained by experienced heating engineers.
Approved courses
NICEIC, well known in the trade for their electrical and plumbing registration schemes, have approved our Heat Pump and Solar courses, with Underfloor Heating to follow shortly. This means that anyone passing the course will be able to apply to the NICEIC ‘Competent Person’ register enabling you to work without the need for every installation to be independently checked.
NICEIC's Competent Persons Scheme (CPS) covers five areas within the scope of the Building Regulations: ventilation, plumbing, heating, energy efficiency and electrical.
Those registered with the Competent Person Scheme (CPS) will be able to self-certify on-line to NICEIC that their work complies with the Building Regulations, without the need for Local Authority Building Control inspection. NICEIC will issue a certificate to the customer and advise the relevant local authority that work has taken place, reducing paperwork for the contractor.
NICEIC registered enterprises can self-certify all their notifiable work using a simple on-line facility.
